An accessible holiday in Sa Coma, Majorca

DisabledHolidays.com customer Tracey recently jetted off to Sa Coma in Majorca to enjoy an accessible holiday in the sun. Here’s some very helpful feedback she sent us upon returning from her trip...

Basically we had an amazing holiday! The hotel was absolutely fantastic – it was really modern and luxurious. It was exactly what we expected! The airport assistance was really smooth and easy. The guys assisting were really helpful and friendly. The transfer to the hotel was on time and very comfortable.

The hotel itself was absolutely stunning. The room was very spacious, and I could get everywhere with no issues at all. In the past I’ve found it very hard to combine luxury with adapted rooms, so I was so pleased! I want a hotel/holiday to be nicer than home, but with all the adaptations I need, and it was.

Lots of thought had gone into making everywhere accessible, with no exception at all. All the staff were very courteous and nothing was any issue. The swimming pool had a ramp into it and a hoist, which the lifeguard was ready to help with instantly without notice.

The only negatives which we could possibly say about the hotel were that I wasn’t able to use the bathroom sink due to its height, so I brushed my teeth over the bath, which wasn’t ideal but not that bad in the grand scheme of things. And the aircon could have been better, but that’s personal preference.

Unfortunately the town of Sa Coma was very lacklustre, and we ate out once, which was awful, and decided it was best to stay in the hotel, which was fine because it was so nice. The theme restaurants were fully booked for our whole stay, except for the Italian, which was fantastic. If you can pre-book the restaurants, I’d like to have known and done that before arriving.

The beach was amazing. Each parasol had a safe attached to it, so you could go into the sea without any worry about your belongings. The whole beach had wooden tracks for wheelchairs and pushchairs, and you could borrow a beach wheelchair free of charge by just turning up and taking it. It was a floating one that could be used for lounging or going in the sea.

The food was of a very high standard at the buffet restaurant, with plenty of choice, and the service was again very good.

All in all, it was fantastic and we would return without any hesitation!
