Disabled Beach No Pets Holidays in Mullion with Electric Bed and Ceiling Track Hoist

The largest village on the Lizard Peninsula, Mullion sits on a stretch of particularly beautiful coastline, deep inside one of Cornwall’s many Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The nearby shoreline boasts an excellent selection of secluded coves, including Polurrian and Poldhu, both of which offer fine, sandy beaches set amidst rugged cliffs. Just south of the village you’ll also find Mullion Cove (pictured), a picture-postcard working harbour owned by the National Trust. Built in 1895 as recompense to local fishermen for several disastrous pilchard seasons, the cove is protected from the waves by two stout sea walls and is often frequented by grey seals. The harbour is also the starting point for fishing excursions and trips around the nearby Mullion Island, a bird sanctuary that’s home to breeding colonies of great black-backed gulls, guillemots, shags and cormorants.

You can see more adorable seals at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary (seven miles north of Mullion), where injured seals are cared for prior to their reintroduction to the wild. The centre puts on feeding displays and talks on animal conservation, and also lets visitors get up close and personal with sea lions, otters and penguins.

The main site of interest in Mullion itself is St Mellanus Church, a Grade I listed building dating from the 13th century. The church is renowned for its lavish interior, notably the richly carved oak pews that depict biblical scenes, including that of Jonah and the Whale. The village also has a welcome assortment of cafes, restaurants, craft shops and galleries.
