Dementia Supported holidays

Supported 5 day short breaks (Monday - Friday) run throughout the year for people living with dementia and their family member/carer or friend to enjoy together. All holidays are run in small groups of up to 10 people. Optional excursions are available every day to a variety of local attractions which have an extra cost. On each day of the holiday the caring staff are on hand between 9am and 9pm to provide you with any extra support you need, allowing you the freedom to enjoy your holiday individually or together.

 

The Holiday accommodation you will stay in is a dementia friendly holiday home/s and the accommodation is soley for guests travelling on the holiday (Maximum of 5 couples.) Everybody from the cook who provides the meals to the housekeeper have experience of supporting people with dementia. This homely environment is chosen for a more relaxed holiday and offers easy access to laundry facilities, sitting room, and your own bathroom. For more details of accommodation please do ask.

After arrival at your holiday destination all transport is provided until you go home Transport can be organized and/or provided, either from a designated rendezvous point or door-to door if you do not have transport to reach holiday destination – charges will incur.

A travel companion can also be arranged if required.

Gold Supported Holiday Package

One experienced dementia Support Staff member for every two couples. Staff are available at the house and on outings 9am – 9pm.

• Increased staff ratio with one Support Staff member for each couple
• Post holiday home visit where we will highlight new support and/or leisure options for you to consider and share your holiday memories with our photos and videos
• 5* dementia friendly accommodation
• Home baking and pre-selected choice of alcoholic and/or non-alcoholic drinks

Booking your holiday

Provisional bookings can be made over the telephone. A booking is confirmed with a deposit plus your completed and signed booking form, confirming that you have read and understood all of the information regarding your holiday and accept all of the Terms & Conditions. You will then be asked to complete a support questionnaire and then a phone call or visit to your home will be arranged so that the Support Staff can take the time to get to know you and anyone in your party, understand the support you require, what you want to do on your holiday and how they can help you relax and enjoy it.

After your holiday...Your favourite holiday photo memories can be shared with your family and friends either on your computer or in a photo book. Our holiday provider will help you to continue the friendships you make on the holiday by creating networks that allow you to easily keep in touch with each other.

Not included in the price: Transport to the accommodation, entrance fees, tickets to entertainment, lunch, telephone calls, personal care, travel insurance.

DISCLAIMER: Any guest that displays behaviour which could pose a health and/or safety risk to themselves, other guests, staff or property will be asked to leave and return home. Returning or repatriating a guest home due to inappropriate behaviour can be organized by the supplier however this will incur additional costs.
