Disabled Self Catering Holidays in Bodmin with Wheel in Shower, Electric Bed and Airflow Mattress
Situated at the heart of Cornwall, Bodmin is an excellent choice for an authentic Cornish holiday. It’s a quiet place with historic buildings, traditional pubs and tearooms, but it also boasts a number of unique attractions and some of the region’s most impressive scenery.
Bodmin is convenient for people with mobility requirements, as several of its most popular attractions are all within close distance of one another. These include the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway, which takes passengers on an evocative 13-mile trip through the beautiful surrounding countryside. The train departs from Bodmin Station and accommodates wheelchair users.
Other recommend places of interest include the Bodmin Town Museum; the Regimental Museum; and the Courtroom Experience, where visitors get to act as a member of the jury in a recreation of a Victorian trial and decide the outcome.
Just outside of town you’ll also find two exceptional stately homes and gardens: Pencarrow and Lanhydrock (pictured). Pencarrow is a Georgian mansion with 50 rooms filled with antique furniture, paintings and porcelain, whereas Lanhydrock houses fascinating collections of artefacts from life in Victorian times.
The local scenery is capped off by Bodmin Moor, to the north-west of town. Covering over 80 square miles, this sweeping granite moorland is known for its striking scenery and its assortment of Neolithic stone circles and monuments.
