Description
One of the finest manor houses in the Cotswolds, with a heritage dating back to the 13th Century. Located in a breathtaking setting next to the church with ten acres of gardens rolling into the surrounding countryside and based in the tiny village of Buckland.
Privately owned and exquisitely furnished, the quintessential country house hotel. Within this tranquil rural Manor guests will find comfortable drawing rooms, elegant bedrooms, delectable fine dining and a very warm welcome.
Truly encapsulates the feeling of being at the home of a friend. A very good friend who produces afternoon tea on request, fine aperitifs before dinner, suggests the perfect wines and doesn't mind how late you get up before serving a hearty breakfast.
Reception The reception is located on the ground floor and has clear level access. Throughout the whole of the ground floor the surfaces are level wooden flooring, polished stone floors and short pile rugs and carpets. Corridors throughout the ground floor are wide with the narrowest doorways being 870mm.Reception is well lit with table lamps and natural light.
Public areas
Lounges - The lounges in the hotel are located on the ground floor where the surfaces are a mix of level wooden flooring, polished stone floors and short pile rugs and carpets. Our corridors are wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair and we have staff trained in disability awareness. Assistance dogs are more than welcome within the lounges.
Both the Main Lounge and Morning Room feature a mixture of seating arrangements with low level coffee tables (500mm) and seating ranging from soft deep cushioned to straight back chairs and sofas.
Public Toilets The hotel has limited public toilet facilities which are not accessible for wheel chair users. As such guests booked in Delany room would use those facilities. Where possible, we reserve Delany should we have enquires on lunch/dinner reservations for customers requiring wheel chair access or those with reduced mobility.
Gardens The gardens can be accessed via the rear of the hotel. There are a series of gravel pathways that go around the gardens with steps leading to higher ground, so access is not free as a result. The Front lawn however is extensive and is boarded by a firm gravel surface. The lawn has a slight gradient down away from the hotel, although this remains accessible.
Restaurant - The restaurant is located on the ground floor and the surface is short pile carpet. Full waiter service is provided at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary needs.
The menu is printed and can be verbally presented or provided in large print if required. There is ample moveable seating and there are chairs without arms. The restaurant area is well-lit, with lots of natural daylight during daytime hours.
Bedroom - Delaney is situated on the ground floor. The room is well lit with ceiling spot lights, table lamps and natural light from the windows. There is a small ramp from the main bedroom to access the dressing area and bathroom.
The doorways are 880mm wide.
The bathroom comprises of a shower with a portable seat and grab rail, a toilet seat (420mm high) and washbasin (780mm high). The bathroom is also fitted with an emergency pull cord and benefits from natural light from two sky lights.
Car parking and arrival The car park is on a level and has a firm gravel surface. The drop-off point is at the front door for wheelchair access and Buckland Manor offers porter assistance for both car parking and luggage.
There are six steps into main Reception and wheelchair access is via a ramp at the rear of the Hotel.
The staff are trained in disability awareness and are available to assist you with any reasonable request.
