Description
Nestled at the edge of the picturesque and historic village of Mayfield, this charming self-catering holiday home offers a peaceful rural retreat on a 30-acre working farm. Perfect for family or friend gatherings, the barn accommodates up to 8 guests in four comfortable bedrooms. Thoughtfully designed with guests with reduced mobility or wheelchair users in mind, the property offers a welcoming, accessible environment.
Converted from a traditional farm building, the barn is a spacious single-storey home with a fully equipped kitchen/dining room, a cosy lounge, and two bathrooms. One of the bathrooms features a full wet room with grab rails, a shower chair, and a wheelchair-accessible sink for ease of use.
Access is made easy via a wooden ramp with a gentle incline and handrail, complemented by portable metal ramps over door thresholds and rubber mat ramps inside each doorway. The home is designed for maximum comfort and convenience.
On the farm, you’ll encounter a variety of friendly animals, including sheep, pigs, cows, chickens, and ducks. The expansive grounds feature a stream with a charming weir, a wildlife pond, and an ancient woodland. Whether you’re looking to relax by the water or take a stroll through the fields, the peaceful setting is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
The Barn is just 2 kilometers from Mayfield village and around 7 miles from Wadhurst. Nearby, you’ll find some of East Sussex's most popular tourist attractions, including the stunning south coast beaches of Brighton, Eastbourne, Hastings, and Camber.
