Accessible Cottage in Uckfield

This cottage has a fully-accessible single bedroom and wet room on the ground floor, and the comfortable lounge/diner is spacious enough for wheelchair use. There is a second bedroom on the first floor. The two accessible cottages are located around the central courtyard, where you have direct access to a charming outdoor seating area, perfect for an evening drink.

Accessible features:

• Fixed concrete ramps leading up to the main entrances of each property
• Ground floor is fully wheelchair-accessible, with widened doors, wheel-in shower and lowered light switches
• Accessible bedroom on the ground floor and second bedroom on the first floor that can be made into a twin or double on request
• Electric bed that can be raised and lowered, with side rails and clear space underneath for hoist
• Flat-level parking
• Access to a large communal patio area with outside seating
• On-site staff available 24 hours
• Wet room with grab rails and raised toilet seat
• Perching stool on request

If you have a large party, then there is more accommodation (non-adapted) within the same grounds, from two storey cottages with their own terrace, to cosy bungalows with fantastic views. All of the properties are set in eleven acres of rolling pasture and woodland, a peaceful location perfect for a romantic weekend getaway or an action-packed family holiday, with dozens of exciting tourist destinations to explore in the local area.

The cottages are owned by Outward, a charity that provides high-quality support and care services to people with disabilities in London. Outward has been supporting people for over 40 years. The accessible cottages are set up to welcome people with a variety of disabilities, and we will do everything possible to make sure that you have a safe, enjoyable and comfortable stay.

Bed linen, towels, WIFI and electric and central heating included. No smoking in the cottages. Pets welcome (charges apply), but dogs must be kept on a lead in the communal cottage areas, and when the sheep are in the field.

Nutley is a village on the A22 about a mile from the cottages. It has two excellent restaurants (Italian and Indian), a convenience store, petrol garage . There is a lovely country pub called the Foresters In Fairwarp a 5 minute drive from the site and Uckfield Town centre is just 5 miles away with a plethora of shops, cafes and two major supermarkets and a cinema.

There are lots of things to see and do within a 40 minute drive of the site including Brighton and Eastbourne seafronts, and a variety of historical towns and national Trust venues.
