Majorca is the largest of the four Spanish Balearic Islands and an island of contrast from north to south. Throughout Majorca you will find coastal ranges and cliff walks, secluded beaches and olive groves waiting for you. Majorca is a fabulous holiday destination with various accessible excursions. There is a fantastic range of activities specially adapted for those with physical and or mental disabilities. The aim is to allow people with disabilities to perform activities in the company of loved ones, allowing a real integration in society through sport.

Accessible Sailing tour Duration: 2 hours approx

Accessible sailing

Introduction to sailing which includes theoretical and practical classes, both ashore and at sea. These activities can be practised in single-handed boats or larger boats, all completely adapted. There will always be a qualified monitor on board attending to all the needs of the participants.

This activity is most suited for people with sensory, mental and physical disabilities. Before starting, those wishing to participate must complete an inscription form and pass a simple test to confirm that there are no impediments.

The activities will take place in the Real Club Náutico of Palma, 10 minutes from the airport.

 

Hiking/4x4 (Superfour) Duration: 2 hours approx

Hiking/Superfour

There are special routes according to the disability of the participant. For those with a physical disability, we have the new super four electric vehicle (Otto Bock) which can be controlled by just one joystick.

This excursion is best suited for people with sensory, mental and physical disabilities with injury C6 or lower.* Before starting those wishing to participate must complete an inscription form and pass a simple test to confirm that there are no impediments.

The activities take place in the public estate of Galatzó, in the Sierra Tramuntana, Calvià, 30 minutes from the airport.

 

Kayak Duration: 1h 30 minutes approx

Kayak

Introduction to canoeing; the classes are both theoretical and practical. First the kayak is adapted to the individual, then the participant is taught to handle the paddle, the position of the arms and the rotation of the body, going backwards and forwards and making circles to the left and the right as well as learning to stop the kayak. At all times the participants will be accompanied by a qualified monitor.

This activity is best suited for people with mental, sensory and physical disabilities with injury in C 7 or lower.* Before starting, those wishing to participate must complete an inscription form and pass a simple test to confirm that there are no impediments. *In cases of partial injury there may be exceptions.

The activities will take place in the Real Club Náutico of Palma.

 

Golf Duration: 1h to 1h 30 minutes approx

Accessible Golf

Introduction to Golf; theoretical and practical classes which include learning the grip and the swing. For people with a physical disability, we offer the use of a Paragolfer* which allows the player to stand and gives total independence.

This activity is best suited for people with mental, sensory or physical disabilities, with injury in C 6 or lower.* Before starting, those wishing to participate must complete an inscription form and pass a simple test to confirm that there are no impediments.

The activities take place in the Golf Club Maioris (Llucmajor), 20 minutes from the airport.

 

Water skiing Duration: 15 to 20 minutes per person depending on the disability. The actual water-skiing time is 10 minutes. Total time: 1 hour.

First lesson: an introduction to water-skiing. Practising it on a board specially designed for people with disabilities. This activity takes place under the supervision of specialised instructors to ensure complete safety. 

This activity is best suited for people with sensory, mental and physical disabilities with injury in C6 or lower*. Before starting those willing to participate must complete an inscription form and must pass a simple test to confirm that there are no impediments.

The activities are held in the Palma Nova beach, Calvia, 15 minutes from the airport.

 

Scuba Diving Duration: 1h 30 minutes to 2 hours. The actual dive will be 15 minutes per person.

Accessible Scuba Diving

The first part is an explanation of all the basics of scuba diving before the first dive. This first dive will take place in protected waters where the participants become accustomed to being underwater.

This activity is best suited for people with mental, sensory and physical disabilities with injury C7 or lower*. Before starting, those wishing to participate must complete an inscription form and pass a simple test to confirm that there are no impediments (medical certificate). All the participants must be able to swim or stay afloat for several minutes.

These activities will take place in the Polideportivo Municipal of Calvia or in the Buganbilla beach, 15 minutes from the airport.

 

Blokart Duration: 1h – 1h 30 min, individual practice between 20 and 30 minutes.

The lesson is divided into two parts: The first is theoretical where the basic steps are learned and the second is practical where the participant learns to handle the sheet, appreciate the wind direction and take the rudder to control the direction. The participant is accompanied at all times by a monitor.

The activities are held at the aerodrome of Son Vent (Binissalem), 30 minutes from the airport.
