Transport in Blackpool

Blackpool trams are the most popular way to see the seaside town. They have a number of trams that range from single-deckers to illuminated trams. Only some Blackpool trams are wheelchair accessible. Most of the trams are classic and are only just receiving upgrades to make them more accessible for wheelchair users. There is so much to see and do in Blackpool and many of the attractions are wheelchair accessible.

Blackpool Tower

Your Blackpool trip won’t be complete without a visit to the Blackpool Tower! They have wheelchair accessible entrance ways and accessible lifts. They also have accessible toilets and cafes plus assistance dogs are also welcome.

Stanley Park

There is wheelchair access throughout the park plus the park is only a short distance from the town centre. They have disabled parking, toilets and a wheelchair accessible café. Assistance dogs are also permitted.

Blackpool Zoo

The grounds at Blackpool zoo are wheelchair accessible. They have designated disabled parking areas and toilets. Unfortunately assistance dogs will not be allowed to accompany you around the zoo itself but it is possible to leave your assistance dog with a member of staff.

Sandcastle Waterpark

Sandcastle Waterpark is the UK's largest indoor waterpark with over 18 slides and attractions in an 84 degree tropical climate. Sandcastle Waterpark has a Gold Wet Room facility amongst many more, which is equipped with a H-track hoist system, adjustable sink, toilet, full adult size changing bed and a range of accessibility aids. There is a full range of accessible facilities and all the whole team is trained with Disability Awareness training, there is even a dedicated Guest Service and Inclusion Manager and Water Ambassadors to assist guests in the waterpark. Farmer Parr’s Animal World

The farm is wheelchair accessible and most of the farm is undercover. They have accessible toilets; disabled parking, ramps and assistance dogs are welcome. Exhibits for the visually impaired can be arranged but notice must be given.

Louis Tussards Waxworks

The attraction has ramps, disabled toilets and level access throughout. Assistance dogs are welcome and wheelchair hire is available on request. Special exhibits are available to those that are visually impaired and hearing loops are also available.

Sea Life

This Sea Life centre does not have its own car park but it does have wheelchair accessibility throughout with medium ramps and disabled toilets. Assistance dogs are also welcome.
