Description
This beautiful red brick cottage is located on a small farm next door to the farmhouse. The cottage is situated on a private lane in the picturesque North Shropshire countryside, allowing guests to relax and unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The front of the property is surrounded by a wooden fence with access gate and a large yard allowing a car to park right outside the front door.
The cottage maintains some of its original features from its past days when it was a cheese storage room. This blend of traditional and modern design creates a homely feeling, with a cosy wood burner to admire on cold nights
Access
The cottage has been converted entirely with a full wheelchair user in mind. The ground floor of the property is all on one level with extra wide doorways and hallways.
There is a wheelchair accessible bathroom with a wetroom, an easy access wash basin, raised toilet and a wall mounted shower chair / and a wheel-in shower chair.
All of the light switches and powerpoints are at an accessible level. The property has two electric beds that can be raised and lowered at the head and foot. There is also a rail bed support, a perching stool, a wheel-in shower chair/commode and an over-wheelchair table - please request.

Living Room
The living room still has some of its original features intact including an oak beamed ceiling, which now features modern spot lighting, making it the perfect mix between traditional and modern.
A wood burning stove lies within the original brick fireplace, with logs provided for a cosy evening in making you feel as if you were at home.

Kitchen
The sink unit and hob have wheelchair access and the oven is suitable for wheelchair height. By the kitchen window sits a dining table with access underneath and three dining chairs, allowing you to enjoy the views all day.

Main Bedroom
The main bedroom comes with two electric adjustable single beds, or can be made together to create a king size double bed. There is a built in chest with a mirror above and a built in wardrobe.
Single bedroom
The stairs from the hallway lead to the single bedroom, which comes with a bedside cabinet, vanity unit, a washbasin and other facilities.
The wet-room
The wet-room comes with a non-slip Altro Aquarius flooring, with a wheeled in shower. A wall-mounted shower chair is available with a padded backrest and arms which can be folded away. A cupboard in the bathroom contains a washer/drier with fitted shelves above.
The wash basin and toilet in the bathroom are at an accessible height. The grab rails in the bathroom can be folded down if not required.
Outside and paved garden area
The paved area outside the property is used for both parking and sitting out in fine weather, a garden table and chairs are provided between spring and autumn.
Visitors are also welcome to walk around the farm fields, with plenty of good walks around the village.
Area information
The cottage is located in the hamlet of Marchamley, North Shropshire which is 10 miles from the Welsh border, 14 miles from the county town of Shrewsbury and an hour's drive from Chester.
North Shropshire is full of wonderful places to visit from museums such as the World Heritage site at Ironbridge, National Trust properties, Hawkstone Follies and the renowned Hodnet Hall Gardens.
The village of Hodnet is 1 mile away and has doctor's surgery, pub, shop, post office, church etc. The surrounding area is very beautiful with plenty of places to visit which are wheelchair accessible.
