A modern, spacious, detached holiday cottage set in the quiet village of Roy Bridge, 10 miles from Fort William in the Highlands of Scotland. Commanding stunning views of the Grey Corries and Aonach Mor it has been decorated to a high standard with a sauna, three of the four bedrooms offering en-suite facilities plus a large shower room specially adapted for wheelchair users, and a drying shed, with de-humidifier to provide an excellent holiday base. Set in a quiet residential area of Roy Bridge, which has its own railway station, this mature village setting is peaceful and offers a good local pub only a five minute walk. As well as the two local hotels the village has a small shop and post office. Nearby Spean Bridge (3 miles) has basic facilities and is famous for its association with Commando training during World War 2 at Achnacarry Castle and now commemorated with a stunning statue a mile from the village. The larger town of Fort William provides a wide range of shops, restaurants and boat trips on Loch Linnhe. Perfect for walkers, mountain bikers and skiers, there are numerous routes from the door and the Great Glen Way offers a flat well maintained path to explore the area. Only 8 miles from Aonach Mor, this year round resort has skiing or mountain biking and a gondola to the restaurant to admire the fantastic views. Aviemore and the Cairngorm National Park are easily accessed and Loch Ness and Inverness are within an hours drive. Roy Bridge has its own railway station on the West Coast Line. It is therefore possible to get the sleeper direct from London to Roy Bridge - go to bed in London and wake up in the mountains of the Scottish Highlands - what could be more of a contrast to start your holiday.
