- Just 20 minutes away from Whitby, where popular tourist attractions include Whitby Abbey, Dracula Experience and many more.
- The historic city of York in the west and Durham in the north are just an hour away.
- The North Yorkshire coast is ideal for bird watching and even dinosaur hunting.
Various room accommodation sizes on ground floor and first floor levels. All rooms are en-suite with TV, tea and coffee making facilities, sofa or easy chairs to relax in, a radio or iPod docking station and free WiFi.
Some of the ground floor double rooms have been purpose built for mobility access and have shower wet rooms en-suite complete with grab rails and shower seats if needed.
Bed & Breakfast - Tables and seating are all moveable and 'carver' chairs are available for people who need extra support or lift.
- Table sizes and style vary and all tables are able to accommodate wheelchair seating.
- Freshly prepared to order and local fresh seasonal ingredients.
- The owners of the guesthouse make their own marmalade, jams and breads for breakfast, the bacon and sausage is supplied by a traditional local butcher (Breckons Butchers, Golden Lion Bank, Whitby) and is sourced in Yorkshire with full traceability. This enables us to identify where the meat we buy came from, even our black pudding which is award winning, is made in Yorkshire by Arthur Haigh ltd, Thirsk.
- All fish and seafood are from a local fish merchant in Staithes (Whitby Seafish) who also have their own smokehouse- so our kippers, smoked haddock and mackerel that we serve are again award winning local produce.
- The green grocers (Taylors of Pickering) also supply with dairy farm milk and yogurt and the eggs are supplied by Hawthorne Farm, Ellerby which can be seen from the dining room window.
- Special dietary can be caterd for from coeliac to diabetic, low fat, low salt or any food ingredient intolerance or allergy.
- Vegetarians and vegan also have a wide and varied choice from the menus and any special requests are warmly welcomed.
Alcohol The guesthouse at present is not licensed to sell alcohol - please bring your own wine and drinks, the owners are more than happy to open, chill and serve for you as required.
