Elizabethan Manor House Hotel and Restaurant. Built in 1590 in the shape of an “E” to honour Queen Elizabeth 1, it has, in more recent times been sympathetically converted in to a 21 bedroom hotel.
Situated in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck, the hotel provides the perfect centre from which to enjoy this beautiful corner of England. On your return – why not enjoy a drink in the Oak panelled drawing room with carvings by Indonesian sailors, in front of a log fire and then savour the traditional cuisine in the award-winning 2AA rosette restaurant? • This stunning hotel has recently been awarded 'Silver Award' in the South West Tourism Awards for Excellence 2014 in the 'Access for All' category.
Please note: The drive/carpark is gravel (rather than level and flat) and there have been occasions where people have got stuck on the gravel. The hotel is accessible (once off the gravel) as we have paths to the hotel and the bedrooms. Some of our guests who are wheelchair uses have mentioned it is difficult to get the the village, out of the carpark because of the gravel.
