The building was first built in 1584 and underwent extensive renovations to increase the size of the small complex between 1691 and 1708. The hotel opened in 2008 and comprises a total of 21 guest rooms and suites. It is home to 2 restaurants: one offering buffet meals and one with a la carte style food. Events are catered for with the 2 lounges - La Hacienda has a capacity for up to 800 people; and La Iglesia is set in the convent's former church.
