Disabled Holidays in Makarska

One of the main tourist centres in Dalmatia, Makarska is wonderfully located at the heart of its eponymous riviera on a horseshoe-shaped bay on Croatia’s breathtaking Adriatic coastline. The town is famed for its long town beach that’s shaded by a fragrant pine forest and looks out onto a glistening turquoise sea, while the harbour features a flat, palm-lined promenade dotted with a string of cafés and pizzerias. Everything is overlooked by the dramatic rocky heights of Mount Biokovo, which shields the area from the harsher inland climate. As well as being a great choice for hitting the sands, Makarska is also a hub for excursions to the nearby sights. Boats take visitors on jaunts to the islands of Hvar, Brac and Korcula, while there are also many daytrips to bigger cities like Split and Dubrovnik.
