Accessibility

With its four theme parks, two water parks, more than 20 resort hotels, world class athletic complex and hundreds of place to shop, dine and be entertained, the Walt Disney World Resort ensures that all of its Guests are made as welcome as possible.

If you're thinking of going to Disneyworld. Florida, then consider staying in one of the Disney Resort Hotels. Not only will you find many of the popular restaurants and dinner shows here, but they are also extremely accessible and have complimentary transport that takes Guests to their Disney destination.

Most Walt Disney World shops, shows, attractions and restaurants are accessible to Guests, however in some cases, Guests may need the assistance of a member of their party in order to fully utilise the areas. Disney recommend that Guests plan their visit to include someone who can physically assist them, when necessary.

This guide provides a detailed overview of all the facilities and services in Disneyworld Florida for Guests with disabilities. The Guide is available from Guest Relations locations within all six parks, front front desk and concierge areas in Disney resorts and from wheelchair rental locations. The Guide includes comprehensive information about parking, restroom locations, auxiliary aids, telephone assistance, transportation facilities and entrance and boarding procedures of each attraction.

Parking

There are designated parking areas for Guests with disabilities throughout Disneyworld. A valid disability parking permit is required. Guests who can walk short distances and step up onto courtesy trams should park in the main parking lots for the Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom Park and General Information. The courtesy tram transports Guests to the entrances to the Theme Parks.

For Guests with mobility disabilities or who use their own wheelchair, parking is available adjacent to the entrance at each Theme Park.

Service animals

Trained service animals are welcome in most locations throughout Disneyworld, however they must remain on a lead or in a harness at all times. Guests with service animals should use the same attraction entrance procedures as those for Guests using wheelchairs. Service animals are not permitted on every ride due to the nature of some attractions. In these instances, a member of the Guest's party must remain with the animal. Each theme park also lets Guests use backstage locations for service animal relief areas.

Shopping and dining

Most shopping and dining locations in Disneyworld are accessible to Guests with disabilities. Some locations have narrow queues formed by railings that may be difficult for Guests using wheelchairs. At these locations, it is suggested that a member of the Guest's party orders and transports the food, or a host or hostess is contacted for assistance. Disney staff or cast members are available to assist Guests when necessary.
