Or visit historic towns like Higuey and Santo Domingo, one of the oldest existing settlements in the Americas.
For the more adventurous, there are also thrilling activities to try, including dune buggy tours, hot air balloon rides, river horseback riding and ziplining.

Punta Cana is served by its own airport (PUJ) and is accessible via direct flights from UK cities, including London, Birmingham, Bristol and Manchester. Direct flight time is around nine hours.
