This accessible bungalow is located in the quaint seaside town of Tywyn, close to its long sandy beach on the Cardigan Bay coast.
A great choice for guests with mobility requirements, the bungalow has a range of disabled-friendly features, including a mobile hoist, wet room with shower chair and grab rails, and an electric profiling bed.
Tywyn is an excellent base from which to visit the surrounding area. The pretty little town of Aberdovey is only 5 miles away, with Aberystwyth 30 miles to the south and Barmouth 25 miles north. The beautiful Snowdonia National Park is also just on the doorstep.
Room specifications
All on the ground floor, the property features a lounge, kitchen, wet room and two bedrooms. The wet room includes grab rails in the shower and beside the sink, and a portable shower chair. One of the bedrooms features an electric profiling bed, while the other has a single bed with a bed rail. There is also an Oxford midi mobile hoist available for guests’ use (sling provided).

Area information
The property is a 10-minute walk from Tywyn’s sandy beach. The beach has a long promenade which offers pleasant strolling along the seafront, and there is good access onto the sands for disabled guests. Tywyn town centre is a 10-minute walk from the property, or 4 minutes by car.
Tywyn is a Victorian resort town which has many interesting shops catering for everyone’s needs. The main supermarket is the Co-operative, a 4-minute minute drive from the property. Car parking is free in most of the town and also on the promenade. Pendre Railway Station (the mainline station in Tywyn) is located one mile from the property (4 minutes by car).
The top attractions in Tywyn include:
- Talyllyn Railway. An historic narrow-gauge railway with old carriages and stations which offers local tourist services, including steam train journeys through Snowdonia National Park. Customers of all abilities are welcomed, and there is an accessibility guide which can be referred to online. Talyllyn Railway Station is located only 2 minutes away by car from the bungalow.
- The Magic Lantern cinema is located in Tywyn town centre and is the oldest independent cinema in the UK. The ground floor is fully accessible for wheelchairs. ‘Relaxed screenings’ are held fortnightly.
- The beautiful Dolgoch Falls are located 5 miles away from Tywyn, and the lower section of the beauty spot has wheelchair access.
- Holgates Ice Cream Shop and Cafe, famous for its honey ice cream, is the best place to get an ice cream in the area, and is wheelchair accessible.
