Location shown is approximate
As you approach the estate you will enter via electronic gates which require a code to open. This ensures the exclusivity and safety of the entire site. You will find that the site is very private and quiet. Lodge 14 is at the far end of the site.
When you arrive you will find ample parking for up to three cars. The lodge has a very wide ramp leading to the front door. If you continue along the ramp you will come to a large terrace at the front of the lodge. The terrace has a large table. Six chairs and two umbrellas are stored in the shed at the rear of the lodge for you to enjoy outdoor relaxation and dining.
Just before entering the lodge by the front door you will find on your right a small cupboard for your dirty outdoor shoes and walking boots.
On entering the lodge, to the left you will find the master bedroom. (The door to this room is only 22 inches wide as the room was not designed for use by wheelchair users). The room has a double bed and an ensuite bathroom and shower. There is also a very large walk-in wardrobe with ample hanging space and shelving. The wardrobe also contains a cupboard which houses the circuit board with trip switches which you may need in the unlikely event of an electrical problem.
In the hallway you will find the thermostat that controls the gas central heating. Every room has an individually controlled radiator which ensures warmth throughout even the coldest months of the year. Second bedroom with ensuite disabled facilities
The second bedroom is spacious with a large bathroom and shower area. The bedroom has a single electric bed. There is room for a a single Aerobed , kindly bring your own as this is not provided. However, this does restrict access to the electric bed.
There is a discrete and modern overhead hoist for use by our more physically challenged guests. The hoist may be used to facilitate transfers between wheel chairs, shower chair, bed and toilet. The hoist is serviced under a regular contract, as is the bed. It is expected that guests would wish to use their own personal sling for use with the hoist. The shower area is spacious and has a level access. As well as a push-along shower chair there is also a fixed shower chair. The fixed chair has grab rails as does the toilet.
Please note that the lodge both the electric bed and the overhead hoist regularly serviced and the owners take no responsibility for any accidents.
On entering the living area you will see a large, open-plan area that has a settee and two comfortable armchairs which can be moved to accommodate a wheelchair if required. In the corner is a unit with TV/DVD/CD player. The TV has a basic Sky package. Full, easy-to-follow instructions are available as these things can be very complicated! The unit also houses an attractive gas fire for added warmth.
The dining area has a circular, glass table which was specially selected to enable a large, electric wheelchair to fit under. In the corner is a cupboard that houses the central heating boiler and cleaning materials.
Two large doors open onto the terrace and were designed to enable wheelchairs to access the patio smoothly.
In the kitchen you will find all the modern amenities necessary to make your stay comfortable. The facilities include – cooker with grill and oven, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge/freezer.
The kitchen is not accessible for wheelchair users.
From August 2012 we are no longer able to remove and dispose of medical waste. This means that all guests will have to make their own arrangements. We apologise for any problems that may arise from this and we are exploring options with the local authority.
Unfortunately there is NO LINEN SERVICE
The well-signposted site is to be found approximately 3 miles south of Bridgnorth. Follow the B4555 out of Bridgnorth and take the first right turn approximately 400 yards after the village of Eardington. The gates are about 200 yards down the lane on the left. The road is also signposted as cycle route 45. Please note that Sat Nav guidance may take you to a row of cottages about one mile further up the lane! The closest shops are in Bridgnorth or Highley.
